The reviewer obviously wanted this film to succeed... I suspect he wanted to give it a lower grade than a C but couldn't bring himself to give up on such a gloriously incendiary person as Bill Maher. My advice, be honest with yourself. You loved the film because you hate.

While I have not seen the movie yet, I have heard numerous stand up acts and interviews by Bill Maher. He has some pretty good points, but just as you said Brian, he's too condescending to stomach. Rather than trying to ween people off of relying on religion so much that they blindly trust it, he ridicules them and tells them, basically, that they're stupid for ever believing such a thing. It's a shame too, because I understand where he's coming from, but he's like my friend Micheal. It seems like he's doing it more to say "Look how smart I am and how stupid these people are!" than rather saying "Well, let me give you some facts about religion and you make up your mind on whether you want to question it or not."
