Good review. I think you hit it pretty much spot on there as opposed to Mr. Ebert giving Hunt his typically generous pass to anyone showing the slightest glimpse of aesthetic bravura. I also thought the DP could have been more attentive or taken more risks in certain key scenes, but overall I think the purpose was served for being very low budget and I had a sense throughout the film of the characters' grief-stricken pathos (mostly due to the fantastic performances and the poignant script).
